About Location Sets
Location sets define the display of columns and rows on design sheets. They aid in locating components on sheets. Location sets group sheets together for cross-referencing and for defining sheet and column sequences.
A sheet's outer column and row boundaries are defined by Labeling datums. These are two points that create a diagonal line usually the top-left and bottom-right corners of the sheet.
Unless specified, all design sheets use a default location set. Use the Location Set Explorer to create new location sets and to move a sheet from one location set to another. A sheet can be placed only in one location set at a time.
For each sheet in the location set, you can define the:
• Number of columns per sheet
• Number of rows per sheet
• Width of each column
• Width of each row
• Start and end positions of the column or row labels
Define location set properties for all design template sheets in the catalog. When you create a sheet of a specified design type using the template sheet, it is created with the appropriate location set.
