Linking a Block to Another Item Using Data Linking Commands
You can right-click a block in the diagram and use the Data Linking commands on the shortcut menu to link the block to another item in a module so that the block then uses the failure data for this item.
1. In the diagram, right-click the block and select > . The Link Data window opens.
If the Link Data command is unavailable, the block has a diagram link. A block cannot have both a diagram link and a data link. To make the Link Data command available, remove the diagram link by right-clicking the block and selecting > .
2. To set the data link, complete the
Link Data window. For more information, see
Link Data Window.
3. When finished, click OK.
In the diagram, the data link button appears near the upper right corner of this block.
On the
Links page in this block’s
Calculation Properties window, the properties under
Data linking work just as if the data link was set from this page. For more information, see
Links Page.
Once RBD calculations run, you can view results for the linked block on the
Results page in its
Calculation Properties window. For more information, see
Calculations - Results Page. To remove a data link, see
Removing a Data Link from a Block.
