Linking a Block to Another Item from its Calculation Properties
You can use the Links page in a block’s Calculation Properties window to link it to another item in a module so that the block uses the failure data for this item.
1. In the diagram, double-click the block to open its Calculation Properties window.
2. On the Links page, under Data linking, click Link Data. The Link Data window opens. For more information, see Link Data Window.
If the Link Data button is unavailable, the block has a diagram link. A block cannot have both a diagram link and a data link. To make the Link Data button available, remove the diagram link by clicking Remove under Diagram linking.
3. To set the data link, complete this window and then click OK.
On the Links page in the Calculation Properties window, the status under Data linking changes from This block is not linked to data in another module to This block is linked to X, where X is the module that is the data source.
4. Click OK to close the block’s Calculation Properties window. In the diagram, the data link button appears near the upper right corner of the data-linked block.
