Inserting a Prediction Parts Library Part into a System File or Prediction Correlation Library File
You can use the Library Browse window to search for a Prediction Parts Library part and insert it and its associated failure rate into either a System file or a Prediction Correlation Library file. Performing this procedure does not search NPRD and EPRD Libraries.
1. If a System file is active, in the System Tree Items table, select the assembly under which to insert a part.
2. To open the Library Browse window, do one of the following:
From a System file, select Prediction > Browse Libraries or right-click in the Parts Table and select Browse Libraries.
From a Prediction Correlation Library file, select Correlation > Browse Libraries or right-click in the file and select Browse Libraries for this Part Number.
The Library Browse window opens in the pinned mode. For more information, see Library Browse Window.
3. For Search for, select Prediction Parts.
4. Complete the search criteria fields for a prediction parts search. For more information, see Prediction Parts Search Criteria.
5. When finished, click Search or press Enter to initiate the search.Search Button
6. In the Results pane, which displays all parts that meet the specified filter criteria, select the part or parts to insert.
Multiple Part Selection
To select contiguous parts, click the first part and then drag the mouse until all of the desired parts are selected. To select noncontiguous parts, press and hold down Ctrl while clicking the desired parts.
7. Once all parts to insert are selected, click Insert. The selected parts are inserted into the active assembly in the System file or into the Prediction Correlations Library file. The Library Browse window remains open in case you want to continue to insert parts.
8. When you are finished inserting parts, close the Library Browse window by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
9. Supply any additional part information.
For each part inserted into the System file, enter data in the Parts Table as well as on each Prediction Parts form.
For each part inserted in the Prediction Correlations Library file, enter the in-house part number and any necessary remarks.
You can use the standard Windows drag-and-drop technique to drag one or more selected Prediction Parts Library parts from the Library Browse window into a System file or Prediction Correlations Library file. When you click and drag your part selection, a part icon is attached to the mouse cursor. Once you place the mouse cursor over a location where you can drop your selection, a green plus sign is shown. To insert the one or more selected parts, you release the mouse button. You can also use this same technique to insert library assemblies into System files. For more information, see Inserting a Library Assembly into a System File.
