Inserting a Library Assembly into a System File
You can use the Library Browse window to insert any assembly that is stored in an Assembly Library file into a System Tree Items table or FMEA Tree Items table in the System file. For more information, see Library Browse Window.
Performing the following procedure is the same as copying a system tree branch in one System file and pasting it into the system tree in another System file.
1. If the System file is not already open, then open it.
2. In the System Tree Items table or FMEA Tree Items table, select the row above which to insert a sibling assembly.
3. In the standard toolbar, click Browse Libraries.
The Library Browse window opens in the pinned mode.
4. For Search for, select Assemblies.
5. Complete the selection criteria fields for an assembly search. For more information, see Assemblies Search Criteria.
6. When finished, click Search or press Enter to initiate the search.
7. In the Results pane, which displays all of the assemblies that meet the selection criteria, select the assembly or assemblies to insert.
If desired, you can use the sort selection control for the Last Modified column to sort assemblies in descending order so that the latest entries are at the top of the list.
To select contiguous assemblies, click the first assembly and then drag the mouse until all of the desired assemblies are selected. To select noncontiguous assemblies, press and hold down Ctrl while clicking the desired assemblies.
8. When all assemblies to insert are selected, in the Results pane, click Insert to insert these assemblies in the System file. The Library Browse window remains open in case you want to insert additional assemblies.
◦ When you insert a library assembly into the System Tree Items table or the FMEA Tree Items table for a component FMEA, all FMEA, Maintainability, and Prediction data is inserted in the System file.
◦ When you insert a library assembly into the FMEA Tree Items table for a process or functional FMEA, only FMEA data is inserted in the System file. No Maintainability or Prediction data is inserted.
9. When you are finished inserting assemblies, close the Library Browse window by clicking the X in the upper right corner.
You can now provide any missing or additional assembly and part information in the System file.
