Library Browse Window
The Library Browse window is an auto-hide window that provides for searching various library files for text string matches. It opens in the pinned mode by default. For more information, see Auto-Hide Windows.
You can open the Library Browse window by clicking Browse Libraries in the standard toolbar. This button is available only when the active table in the System file supports library browsing.

The library files that you can use the Library Browse window to search are described in Supported File Types for Library Browsing. You can insert any item returned by a library file search into the System file. Additionally, you can update the item currently selected in the System file with data from any item selected in the library search results.
The following table provides general descriptions of the three panes in the Library Browse window. In the title bars of each of these panes, a button is available for either collapsing or expanding that pane. For more information, see Collapse and Expand Buttons.
Pane
Description
Search
Provides for specifying the type of library file to search and the filter criteria to use for the search. The file types available for searching depend on the active pane in the System file. For more information, see Search Criteria for Various Library Browse Searches. To initiate the search, you click Search or press Enter. Results meeting the search criteria are shown in the Results pane.
Results
Displays the items meeting the filter criteria, with the number of items returned noted in the title bar. For example, if 40 parts meet the filter criteria for a Prediction Parts search, 40 Results appears in the title bar. Using the buttons that appear beneath the title bar, you manage and use search results. For more information, see Results Pane Tool Buttons.
When the Details View (default) is selected, data columns are shown. For more information, see Results Pane in Details View.
When the List View is selected, identifying values are shown. For more information, see Results Pane in List View.
When the Icons View is selected, icons are shown for each item, with identifying values shown beneath the icons. For more information, see Results Pane in Icons View.
Preview
Displays either detailed data or a small image for the item selected in the Results pane. For diagram search results, placing the mouse cursor over the small image opens a larger image in a pop-up window. For more information, see Preview Pane.
