Problems
A problem is a higher-level issue that you have identified as being common to a subset of child records. In other words, you insert a problem in the Problems table to group together records resulting from the same general problem or failure cause.
For example, assume a material deficiency is identified as the failure cause for a dozen different FRACAS incidents. You can group these incidents together by associating them with one particular problem.
While the Problems table is turned off by default in a newly created Project, you can turn it on in the Project properties. You can also turn on and off any of the 15 Problems subtables. Additionally, when the FRACAS module is in use, you can turn on and use the special Problem Team Members table. For more information, see Table Settings (Project).
Using problems, you create parent/child relationships. The parent record is the problem. The child record can be in any of the following tables: FMEA Worksheet (if multiple actions are supported), FRACAS Incidents, FTA Table, RBD Table, RBD Blocks, and System Tree Items.

You can associate RBD diagrams and blocks with problems only from the desktop application.
A FMEA action or a FRACAS incident can be associated with only one problem. A record in any of the following tables can be associated with any number of problem records: FTA Table, RBD Table, RBD Blocks, and System Tree Items.
In all tables that support problems, a problem icon appears in the row header for records that are associated with problems.

If connection settings for Windchill 10.0 M020 or later are specified in the desktop version of the Administrator application, you can create a CAPA request, change request, or problem report from a problem in the Problems table. Windchill users can then see and process these requests in the same way as if they were entered directly in Windchill. For more information, see Windchill Integration (Enterprise Edition Only).
The Problems table supports child filters and aggregate calculations to and from associated tables. However, between the Problems table and the FMEA Worksheet, the only child filter supported is The number of records in the table filter.
