About Selection Filter and ECN Filter
Use the Selection Filter and ECN Filter actions in MPMLink to view the complete or trimmed structures in MPMLink. The Selection Filter actions enable you to view the complete structure when you have opened a trimmed structure in BOM transformer by the parent context. The ECN Filter actions are useful to view the complete structure when you trim a structure in BOM transformer based on change notice or change task number.
Workflow 1: Using the Selection Filter Action
Open parts in BOM transformer from the following locations:
• Folder Browser page
• Search Results page
• Information page of change task and change notice
1. Select the parts that you want to open in BOM Transformer and click > > . The Quick Filter dialog box opens.
2. In Parent Context, specify the parent context in upstream and downstream sections using picker.
3. Click OK . The Quick Filter dialog box closes, and the trimmed structure opens in BOM Transformer.
4. Click > > to view the complete structure. Or, click > > to view the trimmed structure.
Workflow 2: Using the ECN Filter Action
1. Select the root part of an assembly on the folder browser page or search results page.
2. Right-click the selected part and select > . The structure opens in BOM Transformer.
3. Click
Set Configuration Specification. The
Set Configuration Specification dialog box opens.
4. In Change Number , specify the change task or change notice number.
5. Select the Apply Change Notice/Task Filter check box to display only those parts that are associated with the change task or change notice number specified in step 4, in the tree structure in BOM Transformer.
6. Click OK.
7. To view the compete structure, click > > . Or, click > > to view the trimmed structure.
