Opening Searched Parts in BOM Transformer
You are able to open parts in BOM Transformer from the search results table directly. You may want to work on a trimmed structure instead of the complete structure. Use the Open in BOM Transformer with Context action to work on subassemblies and components of a known product configuration that are for a subsystem of the product.
First, use the Windchill search to perform detailed search queries. Then, from the search result page, select the parts on which you want to work, and open them in BOM Transformer. When you open the part in BOM Transformer, only the selected part version, its parent part, child parts and root node appear. The trimmed structure that opens in BOM Transformer is a subset of selected parts.
1. Open the Navigator and select Search tab.
2. In the Keyword field, enter the search string.
3. Click Search. The Search Results table displays all objects returned for your search.
4. Select the check boxes next to the parts that you want to open in BOM Transformer.
5. Click Actions > Open > Open in BOM Transformer with Context. The Quick Filter dialog box opens.
