Start
Start represents when a new procedure is created and displays who created it. All changes are tracked under Main until a Version or Release version is created.
Main/Workspace
Main is the active procedure workspace where all authoring occurs.
Change
Change is a record of any change made to a procedure at a particular moment in time. Change records are immutable; they can be viewed and restored, but cannot be altered or deleted.
Version
Version is a progress marker in the history of a procedure. Versions capture the complete scope of the procedure workspace at the point in time that it’s created. Versions are assigned a minor change number (for example, 0.1). Versions are immutable; they can be viewed and restored, but cannot be altered or deleted.
Release
Release represents a published version of a procedure. Only one Release version of a procedure can be published at any point in time, so the most recent release version in the Versions and History table is always the procedure that is actively available to viewers. Release versions are assigned major change numbers ( for example, 1.0). Release versions are immutable; they can be viewed and restored but cannot be altered or deleted.
Release candidate
Release candidate represents a procedure that is currently going through an approval workflow. For more information, see Approval Workflows.
*
Release candidates are generated using only the latest changes (Main).
Rejected
Rejected represents a procedure that has been rejected at some point in an approval workflow. If a release candidate is rejected, the version number is reduced to a minor version instead of a major. For example, the version would become 3.1 instead of 4.0. For more information, see Approve or Reject a Procedure
