Get Effectivity
When you process an object such as a Bill of Material (BOM) item using a change number for the first time, the system generates a new processing status, such as a change state. The validity of this change state extends from its valid “from date” to immediately before the valid “from date” of the next changed state.
Use the Get Effectivity action to make the validity of a change state dependent on criteria, such as a serial number or a customer.
The following BAPIs have been used for this action:
Complete the following steps to use the Get Effectivity action in your workflow:
1. Drag the Get Effectivity action under SAP RFC to the canvas, place the pointer on the action, and then click or double-click the action. The Get Effectivity window opens.
2. Edit the Label, if needed. By default, the label name is the same as the action name.
3. To add an SAP RFC connector type, refer to Supported SAP RFC Connector Types.
If you previously added a connector for SAP RFC, under Connector Name, select the connector.
4. Click TEST to validate the connector.
5. Click MAP CONNECTOR to execute the action using a connector that is different from the one that you are using to populate the input fields. In the Runtime Connector field, provide a valid SAP RFC connector name. For more information about MAP CONNECTOR, see Using Map Connector.
6. In the Material ID list, enter at least 3 characters to search for the material ID.
7. In the Plant list, select an available plant for the provided material ID to find where BOMs are used for a plant.
Select Any to retrieve the effectivity from any plant for a given material ID.
8. In the Bill Of Material list, select an available BOM where the specified material has been used.
If you set Plant to Any, the plant information appears in the BOM [plant] format. In this case, select the Bill Of Material from the plant that you need to retrieve effectivity.
9. Click Done.
