Configuring Job Locking
When dispatchers create Appointments either manually or by using Appointment Proposals or Schedule Proposals, Lock Appointment Schedule field values in the related Job records are set to Lock in Place by default. This means that Appointments related to locked Jobs cannot be rescheduled or moved during schedule optimization. You can configure Service Board to set Lock Appointment Schedule field values to Lock in Place only for manually dispatched Jobs, so that Appointments that are created or updated by using Appointment Proposals or Schedule Proposals can be moved or rescheduled during schedule optimization.

When this setting is enabled, Jobs scheduled by using Appointment Proposals or Schedule Proposals remain unlocked only if the related temporary Appointments are not manually adjusted. Unlocked Jobs are locked when users manually adjust the related Appointments.
This setting is disabled by default, and affects Job locking behavior as follows:

To configure Job locking:
1. In Max Designer, on the Administration () launchpad menu, click Settings, and then in the list view, click Lock Appointment Schedule for Manual Dispatch Only.
2. On the record page, on the Overview tab, select the Default Value check box, and then in the top left corner, click Save and Close ().
