About Schedule Optimization and Project Management
Schedule optimization parameters and the weighting criteria used to propose schedules and Appointment times are defined by scheduling policies configured in Optimization Setting records. Assisted Scheduling includes the Schedule Proposals, Appointment Proposals, and Optimized Rescheduling features, which are disabled by default. You must enable these features to make them available to users, and you can also configure metrics support to track and monitor proposal usage. Service Board ships with one default ServiceMax Optimization Setting record, which you cannot delete. You can configure and activate additional policies per your organizational needs, and define access to optimization policies for specific roles, groups, and users. Multiple scheduling policies can be set as default and active at the same time. Dispatchers select the scheduling policy they want to use when they launch Schedule Proposals.
*
You can optimize schedules for up to 350 Jobs or 100 Project Tasks. Although these settings can be configured to other values, the maximum number of Jobs and Project Tasks cannot exceed these limits. Optimization for Crew Resource Appointments is not supported.
Project Scheduling provides support for large-scale complex projects, such as capital equipment installations. Data from popular project-management applications can be used to create, assign, and track Project Tasks in Service Board. The functionality must be enabled to make it available to users.
