Configuring Distance Providers for Optimization
When dispatchers use Schedule Proposals or Appointment Proposals, travel time calculation and address resolution are performed by the optimization engine, which uses data from the configured map provider. By default, Haversine is used as the map provider for distance calculation and address resolution. For enhanced travel time calculation accuracy or more comprehensive traffic data usage, you can configure the Distance Provider for Optimization setting to define Google Maps for use as the map provider for travel time calculation and address resolution.
The optimization engine selects a map provider based on the following prioritized rules:
1. Haversine is used when it is selected.
2. If Map Provider is selected, and Google is configured as the map provider in the active system setting, Google is used.
3. If Map Provider is selected, and Google is not configured as the map provider in the active system setting, the latest updated Google map provider is used.
4. If Map Provider is selected, but no valid Google map provider with a properly configured API key is found, GraphHopper is used.
To configure distance providers for optimization:
1. In Max Designer, on the Administration () launchpad menu, click Settings, and then in the list view, click Distance Provider for Optimization.
2. On the record page, in the Default Value field, click Map Provider, and then in the top left corner, click Save and Close ().
