Assigning Service Team and Technician to a Depot Location
After creating a Depot Location, you must assign Service Team and technician to a Depot Location based on technician’s skills and expertise. This enables Supervisors to assign available technicians to various Work Orders for the respective Depot Location.
In the Locations Covered object, you can create a new record to assign a Service Team and technician to a Depot Location.
Also, you can specify the Primary Workstation of the technician. The Primary Workstation is auto-populated when the technician is assigned to a queue item in the Depot Queue. For more information, see Managing Queue Items.
To assign a technician to a Depot Location:
1. In the Depot Console, go to the Locations Covered object.
The Locations Covered page is displayed.
2. Click New.
3. Select the Locations record type.
The New Location Covered pop-up is displayed.
4. Enter the following fields:
Field
Description
Service Team
Search for and select the Service Team.
Location
Search for and select the Depot Location.
Technician/Equipment
Search for and select the technician for the Depot Location.
Primary Workstation
Search for and select the primary workstation of the technician.
This workstation is auto-populated when the technician is assigned to any queue item in the Depot Queue.
It is recommended to select the workstation that belongs to the respective Depot.
5. Click Save.
The record is created in the Location Covered object.
