Work Order Resources
Technician Preferences for work orders are stored as Work Order Resource records. These can be created in the following ways:
Manually create them for the required work orders
Compute Work Order Resource records from the technician constraints defined in Resource Preference records for Installed Product, Location, and Account. This can be done in two ways.
Use customization such as trigger to auto-create these records on work order create/edit
Set the global configuration settings SET051 (Enable Resource preference management for Work Order, Module > OptiMax Submodule >Dispatch Calculations) and GBL007 (Enable Dispatch Optimization, Module > Common Submodule >Global Settings) to True. Then, Work Order Resource entries are automatically created from the applicable IB, Location, and Account’s Resource Preference records in that order. This happens on both when creating and editing a work order, if there are no existing Resource Preference entries for that work order.
If the work order's Preferred Technician field is set that technician will be listed in the Technician Constraint tab automatically. A corresponding Work Order Resource is created in the work order on opening Dispatch Console Advanced Search Control Panel. However, Preferred Technicians defined directly in the Installed Product and Account records associated with the work order are not considered.

Preferences should be unique for each listed technician. For example, if technician is listed as Preferred, then the same technician cannot be listed again as Mandatory or Prohibited.
Work Order Resource records are not updated or deleted automatically under any condition. For example, if a work order's Preferred Technician is changed to a blank value, then the existing Work Order Resource record for the original Preferred Technician will not get deleted. However, Work Order Resource records can be updated / deleted manually from Dispatch Console Advanced Search Control Panel.
