Territory Match Rules
ServiceMax provides a flexible way of defining territory coverage, using various attributes such as City, State, Country, and Zip and any custom geographical or non-geographical attribute based on business requirements. For example, a global organization could use Zip codes to define territory coverage in the United States of America, Country to define territory coverage in Europe, and a combination of the Country and Product fields to define coverage in Asia-Pacific.
To automatically match a work order to the applicable territory, Territory Match Rules can be configured. These are configured to be applied on qualifying work orders when they are created/updated. They match the configured work order attributes to the paired Territory Coverage attributes, and populate the matched territory in the work order’s Primary Territory field. In order to do this, the global setting SET049 (Module OptiMax > Submodule: Dispatch Calculations) and global setting GBL007 (Module: Common > Submodule: Global Settings) must be set to True for the active org-wide (global) ServiceMax profile.
Continuing the example above, you can define the United States of America as a territory, define coverage for this territory based on Zip code, and configure a Territory Match Rule as follows:
How to identify qualifying work orders: Work Order’s Country Equals the United States
How to configure fields to be matched between work order and territory coverage: Territory Coverage’s Zip – Work Order’s Zip
