Finding Relevant Settings for a Feature
Perform the following steps to find the relevant settings for a feature:
1. Check if there are any configuration settings under Common module, Global Settings submodule. Some key global settings are defined under this submodule. Examples: GBL007 - Enable Dispatch Optimization GBL017 - Default search operator GBL021 - SFM Delivery Engine Page.
2. Identify the module related to the product feature you are interested in, and check the submodules under them for the list of relevant settings (if any exists), and check if a setting is a group or global setting. Examples: SFM Delivery -Settings related to Work Order: Check the settings under SFM Transaction Manager module, SFM Transaction Delivery Engine submodule, and relevant submodule(s) under Work Order module. Synchronization in iPad app or MFL: Check the settings under ServiceMax iPad Client module, Synchronization submodule
3. Once you identify the relevant settings, check or change the setting value for the appropriate group profile for group settings and global profile for all the settings.
*
If a ServiceMax user's Salesforce Profile is not associated with a ServiceMax Group Profile, setting value is taken from the active global profile for group settings also.
4. For settings related to ServiceMax Setup home page, check the values of settings under ServiceMax Configuration module, ServiceMax Setup Home submodule. All these are global settings and identify the page to be launched for each Setup Home option. Example: SET016 (Home To Manage Object Mappings Page) determines the page launched on clicking SFM Mappings option under Service Flow Manager group.
*
Reverse Logistics group is displayed in ServiceMax Setup home page only if global setting GBL014 (Enable RL Capabilities, Common module, Global Settings submodule) is set to True.
