Evaluating Technician Constraints
Technician constraints are applied as follows, to display the list of matching technicians:
• When one or more Mandatory Technicians are specified, only Mandatory technicians who match the other constraints such as Skills are returned.
• If no Mandatory Technicians are specified, Prohibited Technicians specified are excluded from the search results returned.
• When there are no Mandatory Technicians specified, Preferred technicians are matched and the matching score is computed based on the weights configured for other matching constraints.
As described above, Prohibited and Preferred technicians are not considered if Mandatory technicians are specified. However, Prohibited technicians are excluded, when applying match based on Preferred technicians list.

Auto-population of Preferred Technician field in work order is done based on hard-wired logic to map from Installed Product, Account, or Case > Contract, if the work order matches Schedule Optimization dispatch process. For this, global configuration setting SET050 (Auto-calculate Preferred Technician for OptiMax/SP dispatch process work order, module OptiMax, submodule Dispatch Calculations) must be set to True.
