Configuring IoT Events
ServiceMax offers three standard events out-of-the-box that can be used for creating Case, Work Order, and Service Request records, and also to update technical attributes of Installed Products. Various fields are set in resulting records based on the request payload received.
Using the IoT Events tab in the IoT Setup configuration page, you can configure the list of various supported events and the associated web service class for each event. The remote asset invokes the event using the event name. The related configuration is used to determine the associated web service class. Using the IoT Setup page, you can do the following:
Configure IoT events either by using the supported out-of-the-box events or by using the Object-based events setup.
Map custom events using this configuration page. For more information about custom events and corresponding web service classes, see Custom Events.
To access IoT Setup configuration page:
Go to ServiceMax Setup > Product Integration > IoT-Connected Field Service Setup. The following screen displays the IoT Events section in the IoT Setup screen with the following tabs:
