Warranty
A standard manufacturer warranty is included in the sales price for the asset. It is important to track such applicable warranties for the assets.
Some of the benefits of tracking the warranties are:
• to provide the right level of service based on Warranty terms and avoid giving away services.
• to help service organizations bill the right department to avoid bearing any service cost related to warranty work.
• to help the quality and manufacturing teams to analyze the asset behavior during the first year of installation.
• to convert Warranty to Contract when warranties are nearing expiration and realize upsell opportunities.
There can be different types of warranties, such as:
• Standard Manufacturer's Warranty: tracked from shipped/installed/manufactured date.
• Supplier Warranty: tracked between OEM and their suppliers.
• Repair Warranty: typically applied on Assets that were recently repaired as per paid engagement, also known as Times & Materials (T&M).
