• From an
Architectural Description or
Service Description: right-click the Architectural Description or Service Description, point to New, point to DoDAF, point to All, and then click Architecture Metadata.
• From a valid product diagram (see below): click the Architecture Metadata toolbar button, and then click in free space on the diagram.
To apply an Architecture Metadata to an Architectural Description or Service Description: click the Note Link toolbar button, click the Architecture Metadata, and then click the Architectural Description to which the Architecture Metadata applies.
After creating an Architecture Metadata, define the text of the Architecture Metadata through its Full Text property.

When shown on a valid product diagram (see below), an Architecture Metadata appears as follows:

On a diagram, use a Note Link to apply an Architecture Metadata to an Architectural Description or Service Description.
The following sections provide information about how an Architecture Metadata can be used in the model.
