About an Item List
Each figure can have an Item List. The Item List contains the item’s ITM number, its Item Tag, and the quantity of this type of item in the figure. An Item Tag can be different from the part name. The Item List can also include other formatting, such as indentation. You can group parts in the list. The Item List appears in the Item List pane of the lower data panel.
You can receive an Item List already defined, or create one:
Receive the list as part of an XML file that you import with the CAD model. This XML file can also define the sBOM Tree and the list of figures. An imported Item List includes the formatting defined in the XML file, such as indentation and itemization. You can edit an imported Item List in Creo Illustrate. For more information about defining the Item List in an XML file, see the appendix Customizing sBOM XML Files in the Creo Illustrate 4.2F000 Installation and Configuration Guide.
Create an Item List in the Creo Illustrate client:
Automatic—Updates automatically when the figure has changed since the last time it was opened.
Manual—Updates only when you make changes.
For instructions, see To Create an Item List.
An Item List may include itemized items, items that are not itemized, or both. An itemized item can have a callout, and it has an item number assigned. You can toggle itemization on and off for each item. You can itemize parents and children independently or in a way that shows their relationship. For example, if the parent part is item 14, the child part becomes item 14A to show the relationship between the parts.
