About Standards
A standard is a set of default preferences, or design rules that define all of the editing and appearance options for Schematic figures and 3D illustrations. They can be used to apply a shared set of symbols, stamp, insets and recipes.
Upon startup, accept the default standard, or choose a predefined standard from the startup ribbon. For more information on managing standards, see To Manage Standards.
Standards are defined in the standard.xml file and can be edited in a text editor by administrators. For more information on configuring 3D and schematic standards, see Configuring 3D and Schematic Standards in the Creo Illustrate Installation and Configuration Guide.
Standards can include all libraries and profiles. Libraries contain insets, line styles, symbols and callouts. Profiles are used to supersede some of the appearance characteristics by overriding them at the profile level or at the figure level. Profiles can also control the visibility of user-added content such as attributes and annotations. For more information, see About Profiles.
You can also override some of the appearance characteristics for figures and illustrations. For more information see About Overrides.
