To Instance a Variable Group
1. In an open design, click
. The
Catalog Explorer opens.
2. Select Group from the Type list.
3. Select the group and click
. The
Reorder Members dialog box opens. The group image being instanced attaches to the pointer.
| You can also click > and select the group to instance from the Catalog Selector dialog box. |
5. Click Apply to apply the changes. The image attached to the pointer updates.
7. Click Apply to place more than one instance, or OK.
8. The image is attached to the pointer at the component datum point. To change the attachment point to a port right-click in the graphics window and choose Drag by Port and one of the following options from the shortcut menu.
◦ Next—Attaches the pointer to the next port.
◦ Previous—Attaches the pointer to the previous port.
◦ Reset—Attaches the pointer to the component datum.
◦ List—Opens the Shape Ports dialog box. Select a port from the list and click OK. The pointer attaches to the selected port.
9. Click a location on the sheet to place the group instance. You can change the configuration of the variable group before placing another instance.
10. Exit the tool.
Instance Group and select the group to instance from the Catalog Selector dialog box.
