To Apply Datasets to Group Instances
Applying a Datatable
Before you can apply a dataset to a group instance, the group artifact must have an assigned datatable.
1. Open the Catalog Explorer.
2. Select the group catalog item.
3. Click
on the top of the
Catalog Explorer. The catalog item
Properties dialog box opens.
4. Click Select Datatable. The Datatable Explorer dialog box opens.
5. Select the required datatable and click OK.
Applying a Datalset
1. Select an instance.
2. Perform one of the following operations:
◦ From the embedded parameters area:
1. Click
at the bottom of the design sheet. The embedded parameters area opens.
2. Click
. The
Dataset Selector dialog box opens.
◦ From the Catalog Explorer:
1. Right-click and choose Properties from the shortcut menu. The Properties dialog box opens.
2. Click Dataset. The Dataset Selector dialog box opens.
3. Select a dataset row from the table.
4. Click Map to view the membermaps defined for the dataset. The Membermap Definition dialog box opens.
5. Select a line in the Membermap Definition dialog box and click Dataset. The Membermap Dataset dialog box opens.
6. View the dataset and click Close.
7. Click Close.
8. Click OK. The dataset parameters are transferred to the instance and when one exists, a membermap is applied to the members.
