When you connect ports in two or more variable groups, they must have the same main index number. Change the main index numbers of one variable group before you connect the ports. You can only change the main index of the port in the variable group catalog shape. When you change the main index in the variable group catalog shape, it updates for all instances of the variable group in the design.

Use the following Java function Fix Index commands on the Data tab to modify the indexes of the variable group member logical name:

Fix Index in Report—Modifies the main index of a variable group member selected in a report.

•

Compact Indicies—Compacts the variable index of a member of the selected shape.
