About Labels for Fibershapes
Labels provide informative text for a fiber. A label for a fibershape can show parameter values of the fiber and parameters of associated ports. Use the Label tab on the Fiber Properties dialog box to create and automatically place a label when you place the fibershape. An automatically placed label will move to keep its position relative to the fiber segment when the fiber trajectory changes. The label can be positioned at the ends or the middle of the fiber.
After placing a fibershape, you can manually create a label using the Create Label dialog box. A manually placed label is fixed and maintains its position relative to the design sheet even when the fibershape trajectory changes. To maintain the relative position of a manually placed label, click the Maintain manual label relative position when editing fibers check box in the Change design settings page of the Creo Schematics Options dialog box. The label moves with the fibershape similarly to an automatically placed label positioned in the middle of a fiber segment.
You can define a custom Java button to duplicate a fibershape label to other fibershapes. Select a label to duplicate and click the custom button. This label is used as a template for subsequently placed labels until you exit the tool. These labels are considered as manually placed labels.
Remember the following when positioning fibershape labels:
• Moving an automatically placed fibershape label causes the label to remain fixed, similarly to a manually placed label, even when the trajectory of the fibershape is modified.
• A deleted automatically placed fibershape label will display again when the label parameters are modified.
