About Inline Connectors in Draft Groups
An inline connector has a single cell with ports that are coaxial and point away from each other. Use a draft group to place two connectors in which the order of the pins, number of pins, spacing, and cutaways are identical. When you instance the draft group, both groups are updated simultaneously in the Reorder Members dialog box.
The following rules apply to the groups and the ports of inline connectors:
The catalog shape of each group must contain a single cell with one port. The port in the catalog item of both groups must refer to a single port and have the same index.
Both groups must have the same diagram type and number of members.
For either shape no members may be obsolete.
To inline the draft group with inline connectors when you reorder members of the connectors, make sure the Inline/Heal as Necessary check box is selected. (Settings > Inline/Heal as Necessary in the Reorder Members dialog box.)
*
When the fibers cannot be cut the operation fails.
When you modify the number of pins in the inline connectors, the following results occur:
Reduce the pins—Fibers no longer connected heal.
Increase the pins—Additional fibers are cut.
