Divide Surface Feature—Creo Simulate
The Divide Surface feature in Creo 9.0 replaces the Surface Region feature that was available in Creo Simulate version 8.0 and earlier. This feature is available in both Creo Parametric and Creo Simulate.
In Creo Simulate, click Refine Model > Divide Surface to open the Divide Surface tab.
You can use the Divide Surface feature to split an existing surface into regions that can then be selected individually. You can then apply loads, constraints or other simulation entities to these “Divide Surface” features or regions. See the related links for details of how to create a Divide Surface feature.
Note the following when using the Divide Surface feature :
Surface Region features created in Creo 8 and earlier are retrieved as surface regions in Creo Simulate 9.0 and later. They can be edited as Divide Surface features and promoted to Creo Parametric as Divide Surface features.
Divide Surface features created in Creo Parametric 9.0 and later are available in Creo Simulate as parametric features in the Model Tree.
Divide Surface features created in Creo Simulate are listed under “Simulation Features” in the Model Tree. They can be promoted to Creo Parametric. To promote a Divide Surface feature, select the feature from the Model Tree, right click and select Promote to make the feature available in Creo Parametric.
