About Divide Surface
Use the Divide Surface feature to divide a surface into two independent surfaces, one on each side of a dividing tool. The geometry of the original surface is divided between the original surface and the new surface. The resulting surfaces usually touch each other.
You can use the following items as the dividing tool:
Sketch that intersects the selected surfaces
Chains that partially or fully rest on the selected surfaces
Sketch region that intersects the selected surfaces
Divide Surface replaces the former Surface Region tool in Creo Simulate.
Divide Surface is different from Separate Surface Region:
Divide Surface
Separate Surface Region
Workflow
Divide the selected surfaces into two using a dividing tool. The resulting surfaces usually touch each other.
Separate selected or all surface regions from a surface that consists of disjoint surface regions (contours).
Splitting method
Select a dividing tool (sketch, chains, sketch region).
Select surface regions/contours to separate to the new surface.
