PTC-hosted Codebeamer AI for Codebeamer (On-Premises)
This section describes the procedure for enabling and configuring PTC-hosted Codebeamer AI on a Codebeamer installation. Before starting the installation, ensure that all required prerequisites are met and that the necessary access and configuration details are available.
PTC-hosted Codebeamer AI Prerequisites and Setup for Codebeamer
The following steps outline the requirements for setting up and using the Codebeamer AI assistants.
1. Follow the steps described in the Creation of PTC Organization topic to activate your account on the PTC SaaS platform and gain access to the PTC Admin Center.
2. Create a service principal for your Codebeamer instance. Follow the steps described in the topic Create a Service Principal for Codebeamer and Codebeamer+ Installations.

The Search Assistant and the Indexing Service of Codebeamer AI require the service principal’s Client ID and Client Secret for background operations. The customer is required to share the Client ID and Client Secret with PTC through a secure channel. PTC uses these credentials to configure the Codebeamer AI services. 3. Install a Codebeamer version that supports AI. For the latest information on supported Codebeamer product versions, see the PTC Release Advisor.
5. Depending on the AI assistant being configured, the appropriate administrator must complete the required configuration tasks:
◦ System Administrator: Complete the tasks described in Required System Administration Tasks for AI Assistants Setup.
◦ Project Administrator: Complete the tasks described in Required Project Administration Tasks for AI Assistants Setup.
◦ Tracker Administrator: Complete the tasks described in Required Tracker Administration Tasks for AI Assistants Setup
6. The Codebeamer AI features are ready to use.
