About Swept Geometry
You create swept geometry by dragging a planar section along a trajectory. The section does not change as you sweep it along the trajectory. You can, however, define the orientation for the swept geometry. The planar section usually lies on a frame that is attached to the origin trajectory. It moves along its length to create swept geometry. You can consider the frame to be a coordinate system that moves along the origin trajectory. It carries with itself the planar section that is to be swept. Hence the frame determines the orientation of the swept geometry. You can orient the frame normal to the trajectory or along the direction of the sketch plane. You can create a solid or surface swept geometry. When creating a sweep you can also add or remove geometry.
