About Extrusions
The 3D geometry that is created by translating a 2D sketched section at a specified distance normal to the sketching plane is called extruded geometry or an extrusion. An extrusion can add or remove material. The resultant extruded geometry can be a solid or a surface. The entity types whose selections result in an extrusion are listed below:
A sketch or a sketch region
Individual sketch entities
Closed sketches that are formed by at least one sketched line and that may include solid edges on a face
You can select multiple sketched regions simultaneously for an extrusion by holding down the CTRL key.
