Creating the Common Library
As described in
Common Library, this special Project stores files and user-defined parts so that you can use them in multiple Projects. If the Common Library that is created during installation is ever deleted, you can create a new one. In the Enterprise Edition, only system administrators can create the Common Library.
1. Close all files. The command for creating the Common Library is available only if no files are open and no Common Library exists.
2. Select > . A confirmation window opens.
3. Click Yes.
If the Common Library is being created as a local Team-based Project, this special Project is immediately created and opened in the Project Properties window. In this case, the directory path for this special Project is shown for File name in the File Properties pane. Go to step 5.
If the Common Library is being created in your database, the Create Project window opens. Its two fields, Database and Name, are display-only. This is because the Common Library must be created in your database, and this special Project must be named Common Library.
4. If the Create Project window opens, click OK to create the Common Library in your database.
All supplied
Graph Template and
Report Design files in the Supplied folder on the application server are copied into this special Project. For more information, see
Supplied Files.
During this time, the Copying Files window opens. Clicking Stop in this window would cancel the copy procedure.
Once the Common Library is created, it opens in the
Project Properties window. For more information, see
Project Properties Window.

If you open a standard Project in the Project Properties window, selecting the heading for a Common Library file type makes the Common Library pane available. You can use this pane to specify which Common Library files of this type to enable in the Project. For more information, see Enabling Common Library Files.
