Copying Files from Another Project into the Project Open in the Project Properties Window
When a Project is open in the Project Properties window, you can copy files into it from any of your Projects. You can also copy files into a Project from the special Common Library and Storehouse Projects or from the Supplied files on the application server. For more information, see:
To copy files into the open Project from another Project, you use the Copy Files from Project wizard.
1. If the Project into which to copy files is not open in the Project Properties window, then open it. For more information, see Opening a Project in the Project Properties Window.
2. To start the Copy Files from Project wizard, do one of the following:
In the Project Properties pane, right-click and select Copy Files from Another Project.
Select Project > Copy Files from Another Project.
The Copy Files from Project wizard starts and displays the Source Project Location page.
3. Select an option, referring to the following table for descriptions.
Option
Description
My Projects
When selected (default), the file to copy is in another Project that you have created. If the Common Library and Storehouse exist, they are included in the list so that you can copy files from these special Projects into your Project. In the Enterprise Edition, this is the option you select to copy a Team Project into an Enterprise Project.
Sample Projects
When selected, the Project to copy is in the Samples folder on the application server. For descriptions of all supplied Projects, see Sample Projects and Templates. You can copy Team Projects into this folder to use them as templates.
Supplied Files Project
When selected, the file to copy is in the Supplied folder on the application server. For descriptions of all supplied files, see Supplied Files.
4. Click Next. The Project Location page or Select Project page appears, depending on your selection and Edition. Descriptions of these pages appear in Project Location and Selection Options for Enterprise Edition.
If My Projects is selected in the Enterprise Edition, the Project Location page appears so that you can indicate whether the Project to copy is in the database or a Team Project folder on your local file system. You must complete step 5.
If My Projects is selected in the Team Edition, the Select Project page appears. Go to step 6.
If Sample Projects is selected, the Select Project page appears. Go to step 6.
If Supplied Files is selected, the Select Files page appears. Go to step 7.
5. If the Project Location page appears, select the location and click Next to display the appropriate Select Project page.
6. On the Select Project page, select the Project containing the files to copy and click Next. The Select Files page appears.
7. On the Select Files page, select the files to copy. Information about how to select the files to copy appears in Select Files Page.
8. When finished, click Next. The page that appears next depends on whether any singular support files and/or Table Format files are selected.
If the Overwrite Singular Files page appears, one or more singular support files have been selected. Go to step 9.
If the Overwrite Table Format File page appears, one ore more Table Format files are selected and Simplify file inputs is selected (default) under General in the Project properties. Go to step 10.
If the Wizard Complete page appears, go to step 11.
9. On the Overwrite Singular Files page, select the singular support files to overwrite. You can click the Select All button or Clear All button to select or clear all files and then customize your selections from there. When finished, click Next.
Prior to replacing an existing singular support file with one that is being copied, a backup of the existing file is created.
If the Overwrite Table Format Files page appears, go to step 10. If the Wizard Complete page appears, go to step 11.
10. On the Overwrite Table Format Files page, select the Table Format files that you want to overwrite in your Project. You can click the Select All button or Clear All button to select or clear all files and then customize your selections from there. When finished, click Next.
Prior to replacing an existing Table Format file with one that is being copied, a backup of the existing file is created. Once it is created, the Wizard Complete page appears.
11. On the Wizard Complete page, click Finish.
If the files to copy are large, a window opens, displaying progress. For a System file, the status bar might reset multiple times as copies of necessary support files are made. Clicking Stop in this window cancels the copy procedure.
Once all files are copied successfully, another window opens, indicating that the paste is complete.
12. Click OK to close this window.
