Linking a Block to An Entirely Different Block Diagram from its Calculation Properties
You can use the Links page in a block’s Calculation Properties window to link it to an entirely different block diagram. For more information, see Links Page.
1. In the diagram, double-click the block to open its Calculation Properties window.
2. On the Links page, under Diagram linking, click Link Diagram. The Select Diagram Link window opens. For more information, see Select Diagram Link Window.
If the Link Diagram button is unavailable, the block has a data link. A block cannot have both a data link and a diagram link. To make the button for linking a diagram available, remove the data link by clicking Remove under Data linking.
3. To set the diagram link, complete this window and click OK.
Under Diagram linking, the status changes from This block is not linked to another diagram to This block is linked to X, where X is the identifier of the diagram to which the block is linked.
4. Click OK.
In the diagram, the diagram link button appears near the upper right corner of this block. Once RBD calculations run, results for the child diagram can be viewed on the Results page in the Calculation Properties window of the diagram-linked block. For more information, see Calculations - Results Page.
