Linking a Block to Another Diagram
To model large, complex systems, you can link a block to an entirely different block diagram, which is then referred to as a child diagram. The blocks in the child diagram provide detailed configuration information for the linked block in the parent diagram. Thus, the child diagram is an integral part of the block in the parent diagram.
Computations for the parent diagram are performed as if all child diagrams are in a single, large diagram. Child diagrams are calculated first. The results for child diagrams are then used for the diagram-linked blocks in the parent diagram. This allows the analysis of a complex system to be broken down into separate diagrams for simplicity and convenience.
The following topics describe the two different methods you can use to link a block to an entirely different block diagram:

When a block is linked to another diagram, in its Calculation Properties window, only the General, Redundancy, Links, and two Calculations pages are visible. For more information, see Block Calculation Properties.
