Enabling a Prediction FIDES Application Factor File for a FIDES Assembly or Part
To enable a Prediction FIDES Application Factor file for an assembly or part, a FIDES model must be selected for the top-most assembly. In addition, you must have already completed the question sets for all mission profile phases in this file. For more information, see Completing Question Sets for the FIDES Application Factor.

Any assembly or part without an inherited or specified Prediction FIDES Application Factor file uses the default value of 3.2 for the Pi application factor for all phases.
1. If the System file is not already open, then open it.
2. To enable a file for an assembly, do the following:
a. In the System Tree Items table, select the assembly.
b. In the assembly’s Calculation Data pane, click the browse button for FIDES Application Factor file.
A window opens for selecting from all Prediction FIDES Application Factor files. For more information, see Selecting or Creating a File Using a Selection Window.
c. To select a file, click it. The window closes, and your selection for FIDES Application Factor file is now shown.
Because all assemblies and parts beneath this assembly inherit this file selection, you need only to specify override selections for these items.
3. To override an assembly’s inherited selection, repeat step 2.
4. To specify or override a file selection for a part, do the following:
a. In the System Tree Items table or Parts Table, select the part.
b. In the part’s Prediction Data pane, click the browse button for Application Factor.
A window opens for selecting from all Prediction FIDES Application Factor file. For more information, see Selecting or Creating a File Using a Selection Window.
c. To select a file, click it. The window closes, and your selection for Application Factor is now shown.
The next time you run prediction calculations, the FIDES Application Factor files selected is used for assembly and part calculations.
