SAE ARP4761 Application Examples
You can use the high-level modeling features available in the FTA module to construct the fault tree examples described in Appendix D of SAE ARP4761. The next few topics explain how you would construct these examples:
For all of these examples, on the Calculation Data page in the gate properties, 1 is entered for the maximum allowable probability. This is the default value for all gates inserted in SAE trees. Similarly, on the Calculation Data page in the event properties, Normal is selected as the logical condition and User defined is selected as the parameter definition. These are the default selections for all events in all types of trees. The application examples specify only the values that you must change in the property pages for gates and events. If you enter these values correctly, you can run FTA calculations to compute the same results shown in SAE ARP4761.
