Reconciling List Library Changes
When a List Library file is modified in any way, you should reconcile the list data in the Project’s Data Definition file with the list data in this List Library file. When the Data Definition file is open, you select Tools Reconcile Lists to perform a list reconciliation. If something wrong is detected with dependent lists, a window opens, indicating the conflict and asking whether you want to reconcile list differences.
1. Back up the List Library file that has been modified. For more information, see Manually Backing Up a File from the Project Properties Window.
2. Open the Data Definition file. You open this file in the same way as any other file.
3. Select Tools Reconcile Lists. If changes are found, a window opens, asking whether you want to reconcile list differences.
Descriptions of different scenarios that result in changes being made to list data in the Data Definition file appear in Data Definition Reconciliation.
4. Click Yes to reconcile the lists with the data in the Data Definition file.
If any changes were made to the Data Definition file, the Affected Fields window opens, indicating these changes. For more information, see Affected Fields Window. When finished viewing this information, click Close.
If no changes were made, a window opens, indicating this. Click OK to close it.
When you close the Data Definition file, if unsaved changes are present, a window opens, indicating this.
When the above window opens, you must click Yes or No to indicate whether you want to update the System file. The System file is not automatically updated because updating a large file may take several seconds.
