Inserting a Data Link
You use the Link Data window to links certain items in the System file to other items in the System file. The item with the data link then uses properties for the item to which it is linked.
1. Click the item in the System file and then select > .
The Link Data window opens. For more information, see Link Data Window

In a diagram module, which includes Event Tree, FMEA, FTA, and RBD, right-clicking the item and selecting > also opens this window.

2. Complete this window and click OK to create the data link.
In a diagram module, the data link icon appears above and to the right of the item that is linked to another item in the System file. Clicking this icon takes you to the linked item.

In the RBD module, you can also create a linked block using the copy-and-paste technique. For more information, see Using the Copy-and-Paste Technique to Insert a Block that is Data Linked.
