You can link certain items in the System file to other items in the System file, regardless as to whether you are using a license for that particular module. For example, you can link a fault tree event to a FMEA data level, such as an item or mode, even if you are not currently using a FMEA license.

When you link one item to another, you are indicating that one or more of its calculation properties are dependent on values calculated for the item to which it is linked. When you define the link for an item, the dependent values from the linked item are copied into its calculation properties. Prior to running calculations, the data from linked items is updated. If you delete the source record for a linked item, the data link is deleted.
