Creating and Enabling Additional Form Set Views
For FMEA and FRACAS tables, you can use Form Set to select from different form set views. Simplify file inputs must be cleared under General in the File Properties window to create the multiple Form Set files needed for these views. For more information, see General Project Properties.
1. Create and configure a Form Set file for each desired view. For more information, see Configuring a Form Set File.
2. Select View > Project Properties to open the Project Properties window.
3. If you have not yet enabled Table Format files and a Form Set file for the Project and any necessary override files for System and Assembly Library files, do so now. For more information, see Enabling Table Format and Form Set Files.
4. To create and enable additional form set views for the Project and any necessary overrides for System and Assembly Library files, do the following:
a. In the Project Properties pane, select the Project or file.
b. In the File Inputs pane, right-click Form Set and select Create additional view to insert a child record.
The name assigned to this record is Form Set N, where N is the next consecutive number. This display-only name is used only for reference. It does not show up anywhere else in Windchill Risk and Reliability. You can add any number of form set views.
c. Click the right column for this record. Because only Form Set files in the active Project can be selected, a Select file... label and browse button appear.
d. Click the browse button. A selection window opens, listing all Form Set files in the Project.
e. Click the Form Set file to use for this view.
5. For each FMEA or FRACAS table where switching form sets is desired, do the following to insert the special Form Set field:
a. Right-click and select Format Builder. The Format Builder opens.
b. Select the checkbox for Form Set.
c. Click the X in the upper right corner of the Format Builder to close it. This field is inserted as the last table column.
The selection for Form Set determines which forms to show for the selected FMEA or FRACAS record. The choices are the default form set for the file and those form sets associated with each added view. If Assign by Group is selected in the Enterprise Edition, you can specify a form set and additional views for each user group.
You can insert Form Set in tables and on forms, apply filters to it, and set values using a user-defined calculation or a FRACAS Lookup file. In the Data Definition file, only the following properties are available for this field: Prompt, Tooltip, and Remarks.
If Simplify file inputs is ever selected again, the only choice for Form Set is the default form set for the Project. If additional form set views are added but no form set is enabled, no choices are available. In the Enterprise Edition, if Assign by Group is selected, the form set and views that are assigned to the group are available. If no form set is enabled for the group but a default form set is enabled for the Project, the default Project form set is available.
When the selection for Form Set is changed, an attempt is made to find the same form in this new form set and make the same location active. If this form does not exist in this new form set, a search is performed for a form with the same caption. If one is found, this form is shown and attempts are made to make the same location active. If no such form is found, the first form associated with the same table as the previous form is shown. If no forms for this table type are found, the table itself is shown.
