Database Conversion
If the Setup program detects a previous Windchill Risk and Reliability installation, on its final page, it displays not only the option for creating the Windchill Risk and Reliability database, but two conversion options:
Convert data from previous versions of Windchill Risk and Reliability
Do not convert data from previous versions.
In this case, Convert data from previous versions of Windchill Risk and Reliability is selected by default.
When this conversion option remains selected, once the Setup program finishes installing components, the Windchill Risk and Reliability Conversion Wizard starts and displays the Select File Type page. It provides options for two conversion types:
File system—Converts prior Team files stored in folders on your local file system to the format required by the newly installed version. Comprehensive conversion information for Team files is provided in the help and reference guide for the desktop application.
Database system—Converts data from a previous Enterprise database to the format required by the newly installed version. For additional information about converting a previous Enterprise SQL Server or Oracle database, refer to SQL Server Database Conversion or Oracle Database Conversion.
To begin the database conversion:
1. Once the Windchill Risk and Reliability Conversion Wizard starts and displays the Select File Type page, select Database system and click Next. The Database System Selection page appears.
2. For Application directory, specify the path to the application folder with the database to convert.
If you installed Windchill Risk and Reliability on the same computer as your previous version, the default path is to the folder for your previous version.
If you installed Windchill Risk and Reliability on a different computer, use the browse button to navigate to and select the application folder for your previous version.
3. Once the appropriate path is specified, click Next. The Conversion Changes page appears. For more information, see:

If you are converting a previous Corporate database or if you need to delete an already existing Windchill Risk and Reliability database, the Conversion Wizard displays an additional page. This wizard also displays an additional page if an override path has been specified for the Attachments folder in your previous installation. For more information, see Other Conversion Scenarios.
