Routing Plan Tab
Use the Routing Plan tab in the Process Plan Browser (PPB) to view a graphical representation of a plant and line. This representation includes the following:
• The work centers, stations, feeder lines, and zones within your plant
• The operations localized to a particular workstation or feeder line
Use the
Open in Process Plan Browser action to open a process plan in the context of a routing plan in the Process Plan Browser (PPB). For more information, see
Opening Routing Plan in the Process Plan Browser.
You can view the Routing Plan tab in PPB only if a process plan is opened in the context of a routing plan.
After you open a process plan in the context of a routing plan, the identity of the routing plan is displayed above the process plan tabs. The checked-out icon next to the routing plan object name also appears if the routing plan is checked out.
Using the Options Menu in the Routing Plan Tab
In the
Routing Plan tab, click
Options to change the
Routing Plan tab settings. The following actions are displayed:
• Highlight Compatible Work Centers
• Apply Selection From Tree to Workstation
• Apply Selection From Workstation to Tree
All these actions are not enabled by default. To enable these actions, click
Options available in the
Routing Plan tab and enable the actions.
The system remembers your selections.
Highlight Compatible Work Centers
Use the Highlight Compatible Work Centers action to highlight the work centers that meet the compatibility requirements of the selected operation. The compatible work centers are highlighted in orange.
Consider the following scenario:
1. You need to know the compatible station for operation 0030 available in the PPB tree structure. To know this, as a prerequisite, you must select the station and add the desired resource in the Compatibles table of the Compatibility tab. For more information, see the following topics:
In this case, a compatibility link exists between the station S2 and resource CompStation.
3. In the
Routing Plan tab, click
Options and select the
Highlight Compatible Work Centers action.
4. In the PPB tree structure, select operation 0030. The compatible workstation S2 is highlighted in orange color.
If required, you can drag and drop operation 0030 on station S2 to complete the localization process. The orange color disappears when you localize an operation on station S2. On localizing, the station S2 turns green.
Apply Selection From Tree to Workstation
Use the Apply Selection From Tree to Workstation action to highlight a workstation in the Routing Plan tab when you select a localized operation in the process plan tree structure. The workstation is highlighted in the blue color. If the operation is not localized, nothing is highlighted.
In this case, operation 0010 is selected in the PPB tree structure. Station S1 is the workstation to which the operation 0010 is localized. Therefore, the system highlights the station S1 in blue color.
Consider a scenario where an operation is localized to a station present under a feeder line. In such scenario, when you select this operation in the PPB tree structure, the system does not expand the feeder line structure. Therefore, before using the Apply Selection From Tree to Workstation action when a feeder line is involved, you must manually expand the feeder line in the Routing Plan tab. After expanding, initiate the action. The system highlights the station present under the feeder line.
Apply Selection From Workstation to Tree
Use the Apply Selection From Workstation to Tree action to highlight all operations localized on that workstation or zone in the PPB tree structure when you select a workstation or zone in the Routing Plan tab. If the operations are not expanded, the system expands the PPB tree structure and highlights the operations.
In this case, station S4 is selected in the Routing Plan tab. Operation 0030 is localized to station S4. Hence, the system selects and highlights operation 0030 in the PPB tree structure.
When all the three actions are selected, the system gives precedence to the Apply Selection From Tree to Workstation and Apply Selection From Workstation to Tree actions over the Highlight Compatible Work Centers action.
