Track Deployments
From the Track Deployments page, you can view the status of all deployments. The Track Deployments page contains a filters pane on the left and the list of deployments on the right. You can filter the list to show deployments for specific packages, deployment types (perpetual or one-time), deployments in a specific status, deployments including specific assets, and more. You can also cancel, edit, or delete deployments, depending on their status, and view the assets in a selected deployment.
Accessing Track Deployments
You can access the Track Deployments page in the following ways:
• On the left pane, go to > > . The Track Test Deployments checkbox is automatically selected and the edit action is disabled.
• On the left pane, go to > > .
• Click Start on the Create Deployment or Create Test Deployment page.
Filtering Track Deployments
You can use any combination of the filters in the filters pane on the left to tailor the list of deployments on the right side of the
Track Deployments page. Use

and

to collapse and expand the filters pane.
You can filter the list of deployments in the following ways:
• Click Select Packages to open the Select Packages page.
In the
Select Packages page, the pane on the left lists all packages, both published and unpublished. Use

and

to move the selected packages between the packages list on the left and the
Selected Packages list on the right. You can enter text in the search field and click

to filter the packages list on the left. If there are multiple pages, select and add packages page by page. The
Select All link within either list selects all packages shown on that page. The
Select All and
Remove All buttons move all packages from one list to the other. Click
OK to close the page and apply the selected packages.
If more than one package is selected, then the number of selected packages displays in the filter pane in place of Select Packages, for example 17 Selected. If only one package is selected, that package name displays instead. Click the package name or number of packages selected to reopen the Select Packages page.
When a single package is selected and the package name is displayed, the following actions are available next to the field:
The table on the right is filtered to display all deployments for the selected packages.
• From the
Select Deployment Type list, select
One Time or
Perpetual. Perpetual deployments are indicated in the list with

next to their name.
• From the Select Status list, select the deployment status you want to track: All, Created, In Progress, or Completed.
• Click

to search for a Thing associated with an asset. This filters the list for deployments that include the asset associated with the selected Thing.
• Under Advanced Search Criteria, you can add the following filters:
◦ Select the Track Test Deployment checkbox to filter for test deployments. This checkbox is selected by default in when the page is launched from > .
◦ Select the Completed with Issues checkbox to filter for deployments that are completed, but had issues. This checkbox is enabled when the Completed status is selected from the Select Status list. It is disabled when the page is launched from > .
◦ For Created Range, use the calendar to select the start and end dates and times for a date range. This filters the list for all the deployments within that range.
◦ Use Add Filter to add additional filter conditions:
1. Click Add Filter.
2. Select a filter from the Filter by list.
3. Select a condition from the Condition list.
4. Enter a value for the condition in the Value field.
5. Click Apply.
6. Repeat these steps to add another filter if needed.
7. If you add multiple filters, select whether they are joined by AND or OR.
Click Hide Filters and Show Filters to hide or show the added filters within the Advanced Search Criteria pane.
Use

and

to collapse and expand the
Advanced Search Criteria pane.
You can click CLEAR ALL to clear all filters.
Viewing Deployments
The table on the right side of the
Track Deployments page lists deployments that meet the filters chosen in the filters pane, or, if no filters are applied, lists all deployments. When the
Auto Refresh toggle is on, the table is automatically refreshed every 30 seconds. You can also click

to manually refresh the table.
The table displays a default set of columns containing deployment information. Using the Display dropdown list, you can choose and reorder the columns that are displayed. Click Reset to return the table to the default display.
The following actions are available, based on which deployments are selected in the table:
|
Action
|
Description
|
|
|
Cancel the selected deployments. This action is available when one or more deployments are selected. Only deployments that are in the Created or In Progress state can be canceled.
|
|
|
Delete the selected deployments. Only deployments that are in the Created state can be canceled.
|
|
|
Edit the selected deployment. This action is available when a single deployment is selected. (Test deployments cannot be edited.)
On the Edit Deployment page, you can edit the following details of a deployment in the Deployment Information section:
• Name
• Reinstall
• Description
• Priority
• Scan Frequency(Mins)
• Package Download Time and Package Install Time for a file-based package deployment or Deployment Start Time for an instruction-based package deployment.
|
|
You can edit the times only for scheduled deployments. Once the Package Download Time, Package Install Time, or Deployment Start Time have been reached, they cannot be edited.
|
• Retry Attempt
◦ Interval
◦ Unlimited—If the Unlimited checkbox was selected while creating the deployment, it can be cleared. If the checkbox is cleared, the deployment reverts to using the global Default Max Auto-Retries setting, and only that number of retries will be attempted. If the attempts have already exceeded the maximum number, no further retries will be attempted.
|
|
|
Click to view details about the package for the deployment and assets in the deployment. This action is enabled when a single deployment is selected. For more information, see View Assets for Deployment.
|
Viewing Asset Status
When you select one or more deployments in the deployment list on the right, the
Track Deployments page displays a table at the bottom of the right-side pane showing the number of assets (delivery targets) for the selected deployments that are in each of the following
deployment target states:
• Created
• In Progress
• Completed
• Failed
• Ineligible
• Aborted
• Canceled By User
If multiple deployments are selected, the numbers displayed are the aggregate numbers across all deployments.
When a new deployment is created using a saved asset search, the asset count shown in this table for that deployment initially appears as 0. This is because the scan timer needs time to add assets. If the saved search query for the deployment includes many assets, the asset count may take some time to display on the Track Deployments page. However, the asset count is updated once the scan timer adds the assets.
|
|
If an asset (delivery target) for a perpetual deployment is aborted for any reason, no further action happens on that asset after future scans for that deployment. Create a new deployment for that asset after analyzing and addressing the root cause for the abortion.
