Move File or Folder
Use the Move File or Folder action to move the specified file or folder to a new location.
Complete the following steps to use the Move File or Folder action in your workflow:
1. Drag the Move File or Folder action under Dropbox to the canvas, place the pointer on the action, and then click or double-click the action. The Move File or Folder window opens.
2. Edit the Label, if needed. By default, the label name is the same as the action name.
3. To add a Dropbox connector type, refer to Supported Dropbox Connector Types.
If you previously added a connector type, select the appropriate Connector Type, and under Connector Name, select the connector.
4. Click TEST to validate the connector.
5. Click MAP CONNECTOR to execute the action using a connector that is different from the one that you are using to populate the input fields. In the Runtime Connector field, provide a valid Dropbox connector name. For more information about MAP CONNECTOR, see Using Map Connector.
6. In the Source Path list, select or specify the path of the file or folder that you want to move.
7. In the Destination Path list, select or specify the destination folder to move the specified file or folder.
8. In the Allow To Shared Folder list, select true to allow the file or folder to be moved to a shared folder; otherwise, select false.
9. In the Auto Rename list, select true to rename the file or folder if the destination folder already contains a file or folder with the same name.
If you have a file or folder with the same name in the destination folder and if you select true, the file or folder is renamed.
If you have a file or folder with the same name in the destination folder and if you select false, the workflow fails with the following message: Folder/file already exist or there is file at an ancestor path.
10. In the Allow to Move Ownership list, select true to transfer the ownership for the file or folder being moved; otherwise, select false. The default value is false.
*
The owner cannot transfer the ownership for the copy action.
11. Click Done.
