Setting Up Your Equipment
On the Equipment tab, you can perform the following actions:
Delete equipment icon.—Delete equipment.
Select context iconSelect the context for which you want to view the equipment structure.
The equipment configured here includes sites, lines, and assets, and their equipment structure relationships. Sites allow you to group your lines and assets by location.
The following types of equipment are available out-of-the-box: sites, lines, and assets (both standard assets and KEPServerEX-based assets). KEPServerEX-based assets can have properties that are remotely bound to KEPServerEX tags.
Your equipment is displayed in a tree structure, showing the relationships between your pieces of equipment. Lines and assets related to a site are grouped under that site. Assets related to a line are grouped under that line. Assets related to another asset are grouped under that asset. Any assets not related to a site, line, or other asset are displayed at the first level of the structure.

You can rename the equipment types to meet your needs. For more information, see Changing Labels in the Application. You can also create custom equipment types. For more information, see Creating Custom Equipment Types and Structures.
The Equipment tab also provides a quick view of the completeness of the configuration for each piece of equipment. A checkmark indicates whether statuses have yet been defined for the piece of equipment. The number of alerts and KPI’s defined for that piece of equipment are also displayed.
