Creating New Equipment
To create a new piece of equipment:
1. From the Equipment tab, click 
. If you select an existing piece of equipment in the table before clicking , the new piece of equipment is automatically created as a child of the selected equipment.

2. Select a type, either Asset, KEPServerEX-Based Asset, Line, Site, or any custom equipment type created for your system. If you are creating a child of an existing piece of equipment, only allowable child types are displayed. For example, if you are creating a child of a line, only assets (either standard assets or KEPServerEX-based assets) can be selected.
3. Enter a name and optional description. Once the equipment has been created, Name is not editable.
4. Click OK to create the equipment.

 | If you create a piece of equipment as a Thing in ThingWorx Composer, you must also perform the following actions: • Set the displayName property on the Thing for the equipment to display correctly in ThingWorx Apps. • Create a value stream for the Thing, and specify it as the Value Stream on the Thing. These actions are automatically performed for equipment created from ThingWorx Apps. |
